Robert Eggers Epic New History, Northman headed to theaters at the end of April and had to come to Netflix in the US and other regions throughout the world but not for several years.Starring Ethan Hawke, Alexander Skarsgård and Nicole Kidman, this new film followed a young prince of Viking in his efforts to reply to the murder of his father.The film has received a warm welcome with him currently carrying 83 to Metacritic giving the coveted “mandatory” badge. Collider stated that this was one of Robert Eggers’ best films to date.
Will The Northman be on Netflix in the United States?
Yes, but that won’t come in the near future. In fact, if you only use Netflix, you have many years to wait before it is available.The reason for coming to Netflix was thanks to the broad agreement achieved by Netflix Universal in 2021 which means that all universal films came to Netflix even though with live-action films came far after the theater release.This is part of the newly attacked agreement that will include Northman.”As part of the agreement, Netflix will also license the right to full animation and direct action from UFEG about 4 years after the release and the right to choose the title of the vast universal film library.”
Northman is not a universal release considering that the focus feature is distributing. The focus feature, however, is included in the UFEG (Universal Film Entertainment Group) portfolio.that means we expect Northman on Netflix in 2026. Yes, it’s still far.The Netflix DVD service in the US will bring a film at the end of 2022 and Peacock will receive films in the summer.
Will The Northman be on Netflix Internationally?
Outside the United States, Universal Pictures handles distribution films which means that we must see the film appears on services that have received universal films.Unfortunately, we do not have the right specific per region but as we do for our ambulance (other universal film releases) predictions, we can use previous releases to guess which regions will receive Northman and when.
South Korea is currently getting a new universal that receives the fastest universal movies for about 9 months after being released in theaters. It was a case for F9 that arrived at Netflix South Korea in April 2022, for example. If that happens to Northman, we will see the film added at the end of 2022 or early 2023.The next set of regions that made Universal films do it about 2 years after their theater debut. These regions include Britain, Australia, Israel, Poland, Turkey, and others. In this case, you can expect Northman to be available in 2024.
Outside this region, there is no fixed pattern which means we do not predict Northman will be available in the near future which means you have to use other methods to watch.
