‘Bright 2’: Will Smith Sequel No Longer In Development at Netflix

The sequel to Bright was announced after the release of the first film released in 2017. Now it came 5 years later, now it was reported that the sequel had been canceled since the WILL Smith Slap-Gate incident. This film has many updates for many years so this is all that we know so far about Bright 2.Released on December 22, 2017, Bright is a big new fantasy thriller starring Joel Edgerton and Will Smith. This film is regulated in an alternative Los Angeles where humans live with ORC and other mythical creatures.

At the time of the release, Netflix noted that it was one of his biggest film releases. The film was mainly released before Netflix reported on a 2-minute statistics or statistics per hour, therefore, we did not know how well the bright pile of years later. It was confirmed in May 2020 when the deadline revealed that David Ayer would no longer direct the film and Louis Leterrier was being supervised for the role of the director.

The film failed to reach the top 10 Netflix in any region and only had 5.5 on IMDB.Many are worried that this project has been stopped or put behind the burner after many Will Smith projects are canceled or stopped. They were stopped because of Smith’s actions at Oscar where he slapped Chris Rock who told the joke at the expense of his wife. Following Oscar, Indiewire reported that Smith was still joining to repeat his role in his sequel.

However, in April 2022, all hopes were lost in the project. Bloomberg reported that Will Smith’s National Geographic Series Pole to Pole had been delayed but did not mention Bright 2. Lucas Shaw, another media writer in Bloomberg, stated on Twitter that the project had been canceled quietly saying:Netflix also stopped the development of other SMITT projects in the form of Fast and Loose film. The Hollywood reporter first delivered news about that. The board remains the only one -the Will Smith project is now on Netflix.
