One impact brought by COVID has been an extreme detention in the hiring process for LAFD. We’ve been working extremely short handed and have been forced to hold our crews over on obligatory overtime to insure our community and LANL are duly defended. Keep these sick askers in mind as you enjoy time down from work with your families this season. We’re working hard to hire, but it’s a slow process and the original training is long and rigorous before any of these newest members can fill in a spot on a response shift. I’m veritably thankful these devoted LAFD members have continued to work through this epidemic without complaint and made sure that when any bone in Los Alamos called 911, LAFD would be on its way to help whatever the exigency. While giving thanks this vacation season, please add a little prayer for these devoted individualities who’ll be missing spending time with their families while at work icing your family is safe and secure.”
